According to a report released by the City of Fort Collins financial services sales tax division, February total sales and use tax of $5,592,989 is 7.3 percent below February 2008. The city is behind total collections, based on combined sales and use tax trends, by $322,457.
The sales and use tax collections, sales tax declined by 4.9 percent compared to February 2008. The city collected $4,865,552 in sales tax, which was $166,489 lower than expected.
