Greeley fourth-fastest-growing community

The Greeley metropolitan area, which includes all of Weld County, was ranked as the fourth-fastest-growing metro area between 2000 and 2008, according to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The area grew by 38 percent from April 2000 to July 2008, the census report said. That growth represented a population increase of about 69,000 county residents over the eight-year period.

Palm Coast, Fla., was the fastest-growing metro area during the 2000-08 period, while Raleigh-Cary, N.C., was the fastest-growing between 2007-08, the report said.
