While the news is not all “blue sky”, the unemployment rate in Northern Colorado is still relatively low considering numbers in the state and especially the country. The latest report from the Department of Labor shows the following rates across Colorado:
Pueblo: 7.8 percent
Colorado Springs: 7.7 percent
Denver/Aurora/Broomfield: 6.9 percent
Fort Collins/Loveland: 5.6 percent
Grand Junction: 5.5 percent
Boulder/Longmont: 5.4 percent
Colorado: 6.6%
United States: 8.1%
Again, Northern Colorado appears to be fairing better than most due to strong industries like health care, education and clean energy. All of which are experiencing growth.
Our neighbor to the north, Wyoming, reported the only significant job growth in the nation – adding 7,000 jobs.
